Li’l Abner is a satirical musical comedy based on the popular comic strip by Al Capp. Set in the fictional hillbilly town of Dogpatch, USA, the story follows the good-natured and muscle-bound Li’l Abner as he navigates romance, government interference, and quirky townsfolk. When Dogpatch is declared the “most unnecessary town in the U.S.A.” and chosen for atomic testing, chaos ensues—along with hilarious attempts to save the town and plenty of colorful musical numbers. With its playful jabs at politics, culture, and small-town life, Li’l Abner offers a fun and spirited ride through Americana with a comic twist.
